Cape Chamonix Chardonnay Reserve 2014
The Chardonnay Reserve was released in the first year after harvest. It has a bright straw-yellow colour with golden highlights. An exquisite aroma with scents reminiscent of tropical fruit, ginger, spice and oatmeal. Well-structured with flavours of lime and toasted almonds on the palate.
Cape Chamonix Pinot Noir Reserve 2014
The Chamonix Pinot Noir Reserve shows a ruby red colour with notes of cherry, wild red berries, crushed black pepper, cinnamon and violets on the nose. Although firm in structure and intense in flavour, textures are mellow and round, expanding with time to extraordinary opulence and length on the palate.
Freedom Cross Chardonnay
A lightly oaked Chardonnay displaying flavours of lychee and melon offset by hints of butterscotch making this a full, satisfying white.
Freedom Cross Chenin
A brilliant value wine from Chenin, the Cape’s favourite white grape. Full, ripe apple fruit mingles with tropical flavours leading to a clean, dry finish.
Freedom Cross Cinsault Cabernet
A touch of soft spice on the nose with a gentle appealing palate: a combination of smooth fruity Cinsault and the more complex flavours of Cabernet Sauvignon for character and lasting power. Juicy blackcurrant is complemented by an attractive pepperiness. A well-balanced wine.
Freedom Cross Pinotage
The product of a crossing of Pinot Noir and Cinsault, Pinotage is South Africa’s unique grape. An approachable earthy and berry fruit aroma. This example is softly-styled with intense blackberry fruit and mocha coffee notes.
Freedom Cross Sauvignon
This wine offers alluring flavours and aromas of tropical fruit with apricot and fig. There are notes of grassiness on the fresh, zesty palate and the length of finish is good.
The Chocolate Block 2014
Bursts with raspberries, allspice and a grapefruit-cool-climate-Syrah typicity underscored by dark fruit and floral incense. Structurally more intense than recent vintages and a refreshing acidity luring you back for more. The Viognier adds subtle hi-tone nuances to the aromatic profile and some textural qualities. Bitter dark chocolate on the palate with game, black fruit, hints of smoky minerality and oak spice. A pure, focussed, textured and penetrating palate.
