About the Winery
Viña Luis Felipe Edwards (LFE) was founded in 1976 when Luis Felipe Edwards Sr. bought the Fundo San José de Puquillay estate; a sixty hectare estate in the Colchagua Valley and decided to launch a wine under his own name. It was here where he built and developed his winery. Today, their modern production complex comprises four wineries and a barrel cellar in addition to the original historic cellars of the old estate. Their original 60 hectares then extended into hillside sites totalling 390 hectares, and at altitudes just shy of 3000 feet, the LFE mountain vineyards are the highest vineyards in Chile.
They are the largest 100% family-owned company in Chile and vineyard holdings today include other sites throughout many of the premier growing regions. They export to over 70 countries. Their first release was Luis Felipe Edwards Cabernet Sauvignon 1994 and since then, they have continued to win awards throughout the world. Many of the family are involved in the company including the founder, Luis Felipe Edwards Sr and his son, Luis Felipe Edwards Jr.
