Rapel Valley, Chile
About the Winery
Lapostolle was established in 1994 when Alexandre Marnier-Lapostolle discovered the beautiful Apalta vineyards and decided to make the region her home. Alexandre is a member of the Marnier-Lapostolle family who also created the world-renowned liqueur, Grand Marnier.
There are 310 hectares in total and, unusually for Chile, the vines are densely planted, which forces the roots deep and leads to higher quality grapes. Pruning is severe in order to strictly control yields and harvesting is done by hand. From 2009 this estate was certified as being fully organic & biodynamic.
