    Banyuls 2013

On the nose, there is a powerful balance between black fruits and stewed fruits with subtle cocoa aromas. The palate has a sumptuous balance between the strength of the wine and the fineness of its tannins. The sweetness is persistent and develops greedily. Great aging potential.

    About the Winery

Michel Chapoutier takes a departure away from the Rhône Valley with his fine dessert red wine, Banyuls. The appellation overhangs the Mediterranean Sea on the southern French coast bordering Spain and sits atop soils of stony schist soil. The soil and the unique climatic conditions provide a perfect breeding ground for Grenache that transforms itself into a rich, sumptuous fortified red with coffee, mocha and toffee notes.
